Weddings evoke emotion. While watching friends, family members and acquaintances “tie the knot,” I often find myself captivated by the joy, passion and childish excitement they share with their spouse. Less than a year ago, I had the opportunity to share these same emotions with my bride--crying as we exchanged vows, laughing as we told stories and smiling wide as we greeted our guests.

If you’ve ever embarked on this journey, you probably understand the ins and outs of wedding day emotions. But youmay also understand the ebb and flow of these emotions as you encounter life together. As a husband, navigating the journey requires steadfast support, both in the way you communicate with your wife and the way you communicate with God.

So today, whether you feel more connected to your bride than ever before, or can’t seem to reignite those wedding day emotions, pray for support. Ask God to love your wife and protect your wife, providing for her in a way that only He can.

Use the prayers below to support your wife in prayer:

  1. Lord, may she seek you daily
He is near to those who call to him,who call to him with sincerity. - Psalm 145:18 (GNT)
  2. Lord, may she depend on you for joy and contentment
But his answer was: “My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.” I am most happy, then, to be proud of my weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ's power over me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9 (GNT)
  3. Lord, may she see herself as you see her
Your beauty should consist of your true inner self, the ageless beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of the greatest value in God's sight. - 1 Peter 3:4 (GNT)
  4. Lord, may she be a woman of inner beauty
For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day. - 2 Corinthians 4:16 (GNT)
  5. Lord, may she carry a new song in her heart
He taught me to sing a new song, a song of praise to our God. Many who see this will take warning and will put their trust in the Lord. - Psalm 40:3 (GNT)
  6. Lord, may she set her sights on our home in heaven
So I run straight toward the goal in order to win the prize, which is God's call through Christ Jesus to the life above. - Philippians 3:14 (GNT)
