I have no idea where I’ll be living in seven weeks.
I love my room, my neighborhood, my roommates, everything. I cherish my walks home after work—and how easy it is to visit my friends who live close by. But a few months ago, I discovered that I have to move out of my current house because it’s being sold.
After spending months cultivating routines that bring me peace, I have to give it all up. It’s scary and exciting, but mostly unnerving. In times of transition like this, it’s easy for me to overthink every step of the process, afraid that I’ll mess something up.
Have you ever felt this way during life’s transitions?
Maybe you’re about to start a new job, and you’re worried you won’t be any good. Perhaps you’re a new parent or grandparent—although you’re ecstatic, you’re also afraid you won’t be able to handle what’s next. Or maybe you’re battling an illness that leaves your future in a big question mark.
Whatever is making you feel unsure of the future, you can bring your anxieties to God today. In 1 Peter 5:7, The Bible tells us that we can give all our worries, fears, and pain to God. It says, “Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.”
If the thought of the future leaves your stomach in knots, join me right now and we can bring our worries to God together. Let’s reflect on God’s promise of love and protection as we read through these 5 verses.
God will finish what he has started in you.
And so I am sure that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus. — Philippians 1:6, GNTD
God has good things for your future.
I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. — Jeremiah 29:11, GNTD
God is with you.
The Lord your God is with you;
his power gives you victory.
The Lord will take delight in you,
and in his love he will give you new life.
He will sing and be joyful over you… — Zephaniah 3:17, GNTD
God can bring you peace.
May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit. — Romans 15:13, GNTD
God will take care of you.
And with all his abundant wealth through Christ Jesus, my God will supply all your needs. — Philippians 4:19, GNTD
