The phone is ringing off the hook. Your email is popping up every 5 seconds to remind you (ding!) that you have another urgent message, and it requires immediate response.

The post-it note with your to-do list is growing longer and longer, but there’s no time to cross anything off because you’re late for another meeting. Coworkers stop by your desk, but quickly hurry away when they see the crazed look in your eyes and frazzled expression on your face.

Sound familiar?

We all have those days at work when we feel like things are falling apart around us. You just want to crawl under your desk and pretend that the chaos doesn’t exist.

But God’s Word provides us with reassurance that God is with us and will provide for us. Here are a few verses to reflect on when you are in the middle of a stressful day at your job.

  1. When you feel that your work is out of control.
"Our God says, 'Calm down, and learn that I am God!’" -Psalm 46:10 (CEV)
  2. When there is uncertainty about your job’s future.
"I give you peace, the kind of peace only I can give. It isn't like the peace this world can give. So don't be worried or afraid." --John 14:27 (CEV)
  3. When you forget to ask God to help you with your work.
"Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. 7Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel." --Philippians 4:6-7 (CEV)
  4. When you have a big project coming up, and you need to get it right.
"Don't worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today." --Matthew 6:34 (CEV)
