Relationships are risky business. While they can fill our lives with joy and delight, they can also tear us apart with heartache. And as I’ve learned the hard way, good relationships take hard work, especially when I have to mend broken bonds with the people I love most.
Have you ever faced a broken relationship? Maybe your actions or words hurt someone you love. Now you are filled with stress and regret, wondering how you will ever make it better. Or maybe someone you loved and trusted took advantage of you. How will you ever find the strength to forgive them? How will you ever move on?
At times like these, we need to turn to God for guidance. When restoring a broken relationship, God’s Word advises us to be humble, offer forgiveness, communicate well and have patience through the process.
Here are four Bible verses that have helped me during difficult times of healing:
Be Humble:
Be always humble, gentle, and patient. Show your love by being tolerant with one another.– Ephesians 4:2 (GNTD)
Offer Forgiveness:
Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ. – Ephesians 4:32 (GNTD)
Communicate Well:
Remember this, my dear friends! Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry.– James 1:19 (GNTD)
Have Patience:
Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times.– Romans 12:12 (GNTD)
