Scriptures invites us to thank God in all circumstances.

That’s easy to do when things are going our way. But it’s a lot harder when things aren’t.

How can we thank God when a loved one has cancer? Or when we lose our job? Or our marriage fails? Or our kids get into trouble?

But thank him we must. Through this simple act, we come to realize that God showers us with blessings—even in our darkest times.

We share 7 Scripture verses about thankfulness. Meditate on them and share the post with others, who can benefit from having an attitude of gratitude.

  1. “And when your people meet, I will praise you and thank you, Lord, in front of them all.” Psalm 35:18 (CEV)
  2. “Come to worship him with thankful hearts and songs of praise.” Psalm 95:2 (CEV)
  3. “Be thankful and praise the Lord as you enter his temple.” Psalm 100:4 (CEV)
  4. “Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God.” Philippians 4:6 (CEV)
  5. “Never give up praying. And when you pray, keep alert and be thankful.” Colossians 4:2 (CEV)
  6. “Whatever happens, keep thanking God because of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants you to do.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (CEV)
  7. “First of all, I ask you to pray for everyone. Ask God to help and bless them all, and tell God how thankful you are for each of them.” 1 Timothy 2:1 (CEV)
